Two different jobs called splitting.

Splitting means two things and mixing them up wastes time. Extracting produces one new PDF containing the pages you picked, which is what you want when sending a single chapter, appendix or signature page. Splitting into parts produces many PDFs from one, delivered as a zip, which is what you want when a bundle needs to become one file per invoice, per form or per page.

Both are available here and both are explicit. For extraction, select pages in the rail or type a range such as 2, 5-9. For parts, choose one file per page or fixed-size groups. Part filenames record the pages they came from, so part-2-pages-3-4.pdf tells you what is inside without opening it.

Pending edits are applied to every part, not just the first, and if one of them fails the download is stopped rather than delivering a bundle that looks complete but quietly lost an edit.

What is the difference between extracting and splitting?

Extracting gives you one new PDF containing the pages you selected. Splitting gives you several PDFs from one document, downloaded together as a zip, either one file per page or in fixed-size groups.

How do I select the pages I want?

Click thumbnails in the page rail, shift-click for a contiguous range, or type a range such as 1-3, 5. The selection always stays in document order, so the extracted file reads naturally.

Do my edits apply to the split files?

Yes. Any pending edits are applied to every part before the zip is built. If an edit cannot be applied, the download is stopped and the failure reported, rather than handing you a bundle that silently lost a change.

Does splitting change the original PDF?

No. The upload is never modified. Splitting and extracting both produce new files from copies, so the original document is still available in the editor afterwards.
